OHIO CODE INFORMATION
In the State of Ohio, certified pool operator is not required.
In the State of Ohio, our program has been awarded 10 education clock hours by the State Board of Sanitarian Registration.

While the operator is not required to have a certification, a license is required. The operator is responsible for maintaining the pool, its components, appurtenant facilities and the surrounding area in a safe, clean and sanitary condition, in good repair and in accordance with the State Bathing Code. It is also required that operating personnel shall be trained in the operation of all equipment, procedures for handling, storing and using chemical compounds, procedures for performing and interpreting the required onsite chemical tests and the appropriate emergency procedures.
The operator is responsible for, including but not limited to, critical operation items, authorized representation, staff training, record keeping, water quality and clarity, record retention, maintenance and repair, disinfection, health and safety and safety recommendations.
Operators must follow state, county, city and local laws as well as federal laws pertaining to the operation and maintenance of pools and spas.
